Luton aim to keep up play off charge

There are five Championship games taking place on Tuesday evening with fourth place Luton aiming to leapfrog Huddersfield as they face a trip to bottom side Peterborough (Match betting – Peterborough 7/2, draw 13/5, Luton 5/6).

The Hatters have been one of the revelations of the Championship season so far with Nathan Jones’ team genuine contenders for a place in the Premier League next season.

They have won six of their last nine games in the league and rescued a point late on Saturday as they drew 2-2 with Millwall.

Now, they have a glorious opportunity to go to third with a win at Peterborough, who look destined to drop back down to League One.

Grant McCann’s side are eight points off safety and their dire goal difference means they probably need to win the majority of their remaining games.

Another side near the bottom of the table are Reading, though they could open up an eight-point gap to the relegation zone if they beat Stoke (Match betting – Reading 7/4, draw 11/5, Stoke 7/4) on Tuesday.

Paul Ince’s side gained a late point at Barnsley on Saturday and that could be crucial to their survival chances.

Now, they face a Stoke side who have little to play for in the grand scheme of things, despite an impressive win against Sheffield United on Saturday.

In the battle for the play offs, Sheffield United host QPR (Match betting – Sheffield United 4/6, draw 3/1, QPR 9/2) with both sides narrowly outside of the top six.

Sheffield United’s home form since Paul Heckingbottom took over in November has been impeccable with the Blades not losing any of their games and QPR will need to get back to some sort of form after losing five from six.

There is a Lancashire derby at Deepdale as Preston host Blackpool (Match betting – Preston 5/4, draw 9/4, Blackpool 5/2) with both sides attempting to keep their very slim play off dreams flickering.

Finally, Millwall host Swansea (Match betting – Millwall 11/10, draw 23/10, Swansea 11/4) with the Lions aiming to get to within one point of the top six with victory.
