Notable Women’s Matches on Saturday:

Ashleigh Barty vs Danielle Collins (Final- 08:30)

Nadal is currently level with long-term rivals Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic on 20 major titles and he has the opportunity to edge clear on Sunday.

The Spaniard secured his place in Sunday’s showpiece courtesy of a 6-3 6-2 3-6 6-3 win over Italy’s Matteo Berrettini.

“The first two sets were some of the best I’ve played for a long time,” said Nadal.

“Against a difficult opponent, a great opponent, one of the best of the world, I was able to play I think at a very high level for a long time.

“I had to suffer and I had to fight but it means a lot to be in the final again.”

The other semi-final was a much tighter affair as Medvedev, who lost to Djokovic in the 2021 final, and Stefanos Tsitsipas squared off in Melbourne.

Medvedev stands in between Nadal and history after winning a high-quality tie 7-6 (7-5) 4-6 6-4 6-1.

The women’s final is set to take place on Saturday when home hope Ashleigh Barty and Danielle Collins meet (Barty 1/5, Collins 10/3 – Match Betting).

Barty became the first home player to reach the Australian Open women’s singles final in 42 years when beating Madison Keys, while Collins is set to make her first appearance in a Grand Slam final.
