Savelio hoping Black and Whites can lay down a marker

Hull FC forward Andre Savelio says his team are hoping to lay down a marker when they travel to face Wigan Warriors in the Betfred Super League on Thursday evening (Wigan 4/11, Draw 18/1, Hull FC 5/2 – match winner).

Brett Hodgson’s side can move above their opponents if they pick up the two points, with the Cherry and Whites currently holding onto third place.

The Black and Whites (16/1 to win the Grand Final – outright) have started to build some momentum recently, winning three games on the spin. Betfred Super League victories over Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants helped them climb the table, while they beat Sheffield Eagles in the Betfred Challenge Cup earlier this month.

Wigan (4/1 to win the Grand Final – outright) have only lost one of their Super League matches so far, and coach Matt Peet will be boosted by the return of full-back Bevan French who has spent 10 months on the sidelines due to injury.

Ian Thornley also returns from injury, while Brad Singleton is back from suspension.

Hull will also back one of their key players, as Luke Gale has completed his five-match suspension. Kane Evans has also completed his recent ban, while Darnell McIntosh returns from a calf injury.
