A clash of the titans at the Parc des Princes kicks things off while Premier League title holders Man City will be packing for Portugal…

Tuesday 15th February

Can PSG finally lay some ghosts to rest by finally winning this tournament after years of embarrassing exits and agonising near-misses?

The revised draw hasn’t been the kindest to them as they rub up against a Real Madrid side enjoying a surprisingly serene procession towards the Spanish Primera title since re-appointing Carlo Ancelotti.

The much-travelled Italian boss will be hoping he can come back to haunt one of his former clubs, with the 62-year-old leaving the French champions for his first stint in Madrid back in 2013.

There are also two fascinating political subtexts to this fixture, most notably the battle of wills currently brewing between the two clubs over the long-term future of Kylian Mbappé.

The 23-year-old has made no secret of his desire to chance his arm in Spanish football, with a move to Madrid rumoured to be in the pipeline later this summer.

This tie should also see Lionel Messi line up against Real Madrid for the first time since his shock summer move from Barcelona, with the Argentinean looking for his 27th career goal against Los Blancos.

These two teams last locked horns in the group stages of the 2019/20 tournament.

PSG would go on to comfortably top Group A two years ago, brushing aside their Spanish rivals aside 3-0 as Ángel Di María enjoyed a prolific night in front of his former employers.

It’s 141/50 for the visitors to get some revenge here and seize the upper hand before the sides return to the Bernabéu.

Will Man City march on in their quest to reach a second successive UCL final?

Sporting stand in their way, with the Portuguese outfit in unfamiliar territory having reached the knockout stages of his competition for the first time since 2009.

Rúben Amorim has been touted as one of the most exciting young managers in European football and he successfully steered the Lions to this stage at the expense of the highly-fancied Borussia Dortmund.

This will be the first meeting between these two sides since a Europa League duel in 2012, where it was the Portuguese outfit who came out on top with an away-goal aggregate win in the last 16.

City are 53/10 to enjoy a more hassle-free evening this time around by heading back to the Etihad with a two-goal aggregate lead.

Can Liverpool make it a clean sweep against Milan clubs as they head back to the San Siro for the second time in three months?

The Reds took maximum points from their two tussles with AC Milan before Christmas, but it’s Inter who now stand in their way as they bid to reach the quarter-finals.

The Serie A side eased home behind Real Madrid in their group, but this stage of the competition is somewhat unchartered territory for I Nerazzurri.

It’s exactly a decade since they last advanced beyond this point.

The Round of 16 was also the last time these two teams met in competitive action, with Fernando Torres firing in the only goal at the San Siro in 2008/09 to send Liverpool into the last eight 3-0 on aggregate.

It’s 39/5 for the Reds to repeat that scoreline and land a 1-0 win in Lombardy.

Salzburg have scaled new heights after surprisingly edging through Group G as runners-up.

This will be their first ever appearance in the knockout stages.

They’ve been handed the most unenviable of ties against a Bayern Munich side in such complete control of their domestic league they can afford to turn their guns towards the task of lifting this trophy for a second time in three seasons.

The Austrians were hit for six the last time the German giants travelled to the Red Bull Arena back in November 2020 – although the hosts did manage to open the scoring.

Four goals in the last 11 minutes crushed the hosts’ hopes as Bayern ran out 6-2 winners in last season’s group stages.

BTTS and Bayern to win is currently available at 39/25 as the six-time winners travel to Salzburg in the first leg.
