Roland Rokita Reels in The Grand’s $37.4K Top Prize

The Grand

The $150,000 Grand is one of our higher buy-in Daily Legends and one that sees everyone take to the partypoker virtual felt using their real names instead of aliases. The tournament costs $1,050 to buy into directly each Sunday, but it is one of the softest $1,050 tournaments online due to the fact you can play your way into it from only $0.22.

This week’s tournament saw 177 players compete in the Phase Final, with 27 of those hopefuls walking away with a slice of the $175,488 prize pool. Team partypoker’s Yuri Dzivielevski and Patrick Leonard were among those who started with high hopes of a victory but who fell by the wayside before the prize money was distributed.

Others who fell shy of a payout included MILLIONS Online champion Ramiro Petrone, Pablo Silva, Mike Watson, and bubble boy Jan Strazisar.

Such luminaries as Ole Schemion, Elio Fox, and Christian Rudolph cashed but saw their tournaments end before the nine-handed final table.

$4,301 was the least any of the nine finalists could take home, and that prize went to Victor Gomes De Castro. The Brazilian was joined on the sidelines first by Ryan Chamas of Canada then by partypoker high-stakes regular Pascal Hartmann and Malta’s Enrico Camosci; the latter netted $7,370.

The 2020 Irish Open High Roller champion Ioannis Angelou Konstas busted in fifth and banked $8,999, which was the event’s last four-figure payout. Victor Simionato fell in fourth for $12,291 before Leonard Maue crashed out in third-place, a finish worth $18,082.

Roland Rokita and Mark Elsey locked horns heads-up and did not discuss a deal despite a $12,000 difference between first and second-place prize money. This meant Elsey saw $25,890 make its way to his partypoker account when Rokita defeated him heads-up. Rokita secured the lion’s share of the prize pool, namely $37,407.
